On this wet and cozy Friday morning. It looks like the next sunny day could be Tuesday, as Mother Nature is determined to fill the lake with fewer than 2 feet left to reach the full mark of 5,106 feet.
Let me share a quick story with you. It was a wet and quiet drive to the butcher shop this morning. The store was almost empty as few had ventured out yet. While in line, the customer in front was debating whether or not to purchase what were the best looking porterhouses I've ever seen, and there were many to choose from. These prized porterhouses were on sale as the butcher was motivated to sell them while still fresh and knowing the store activity was down. After long and careful thought, he decided not to purchase any porterhouses after all. He was clearly concerned about the low number of shoppers in the store and as he turned away from the counter, he felt it necessary to share a Mad Cow story from the evening news last week. My guess was that he would have been much more comfortable with a longer line, fewer steaks and normal pricing.
The next customer bought with both hands leaving nothing behind, muttering something about the long term value and his new freezer. I was next in line and although disappointed with my own luck of no more porterhouses, I once again learned that every shopper sees it differently and that is the essence of a true market.
